Permanent Makeup Before & After Care Instructions

Permanent Makeup Before Care Instructions

As an ideal client, adhering to the permanent makeup before-care instructions is essential. We require healthy, healed, and calm skin for a safe and effective procedure and for the best possible results.

Step 1: 4 Weeks Before Your Permanent Eyebrow Makeup Procedure

  • Avoid acne cream treatments as they thin out and oversensitize the skin.
  • Healing may be prolonged if you're on antibiotics (approximately 2 weeks, or longer).
  • Refrain from laser or chemical peels within 4 weeks of your procedure.
  • Avoid sunburns on your face, as ink may not retain well.
  • AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acids) and certain creams can cause premature fading, necessitating more touch-ups.

Step 2: 2 Weeks to 48 Hours Before Your Procedure

  • Avoid Botox 2 weeks before and after.
  • Skip eyebrow tinting to avoid confusion during pigment selection.
  • Reschedule if you have skin irritation or large blemishes on your brows.
  • If feeling unwell, with cold or flu symptoms, sinus/respiratory infection, please reschedule.
  • Avoid waxing, tweezing, or threading eyebrows; we'll groom them during the session.
  • No alcohol 48 hours before to prevent patchy healed results.

Step 3: 24 Hours Before Your Procedure

  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol.
  • Aspirin and blood thinners may lead to extra bleeding and uneven healed results.
  • Wear glasses instead of contact lenses to prevent lens movement.
  • Refrain from strenuous exercises, thermogenic stimulants, or anything elevating blood pressure.
  • Menstrual cycle may increase sensitivity.
  • Arrive with your usual brow routine to convey your preferences.

Permanent Makeup After Care Instructions

Post-microblading care is crucial for the appearance and durability of your new permanent makeup eyebrows.

Prior to touching the tattooed area, ensure you wash your hands thoroughly with disinfectant soap.

Keep in mind, the treated area is now a wound, so it's vital to avoid introducing bacteria.

Step 1: The Day of Treatment - First 12 Hours

  • Gently blot the area with clean tissue to absorb any excess lymph fluid, which may accumulate on the brow area. This fluid is clear and may or may not be present.
  • Removing any lymph fluid prevents it from forming into a thick, dry crust that could affect pigment retention and results. Repeat this process every few minutes until lymph fluid secretion stops.

Step 2: Day 1-10: Wash AM/PM with Gentle Foaming Cleanser

  • Upon waking up, gently wash your face and brows to remove bacteria and dead skin.
  • Wash your face again before bedtime.
  • Wash your face outside of the shower, using a gentle circular motion following your natural hair growth.
Rinse well with warm (not hot) water.
  • Pat dry with a clean paper towel and allow the brows to air dry.

Step 3: Days 1-10: Moisturize

  • Ensure brows are completely dry for at least 5 minutes before applying ointment; never apply ointment on damp brows.
  • Use a Q-Tip to apply a very thin layer of ointment, avoiding any shine or film. Apply only enough to moisturize.
